This project will enhance student and community engagement, education, and research and development. This facility will provide resources to support and grow the food industry in Maine while integrating experiential learning. This will result in pathways to careers for learners and economic development for Maine. The Food Innovation Lab project within the office wing of Keyo with an addition to the east of the building is in the progress of awarding a design firm with construction anticipated to next summer. Planning for relocation of existing staff in Keyo is underway. The design firm is Harriman and the construction manager PC Construction. Funding of approximately $4.46 million is from Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) and State of Maine Recovery & Jobs Plan (MJRP).
